Appartamento San Carlo is situated within a district of Stresa, in an old rustic village called ‘Carciano’. On the same street is a post office, a mini supermarket (with a wide range of local meats, cheeses and breads), and an old church .
The surrounding areas will give you a real taste of Italy away from the usual tourist track, with four very dramatic seasons each giving a different and unique feel to the scenery.
From the apartment you can walk down to the lake in about five minutes, to several restaurants (offering local dishes including fresh fish from the lake) and bars.
There is a cable car running from one of the restaurants by the lake up to the botanical gardens and the Motterone Ski resort.
You can also catch a boat from here to various islands, other towns on the lake or even Switzerland.
Walking along the promenade viewing the beautiful gardens and landscape into the centre of Stresa is a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend your time.
